PILATES SUCCESS STORY - Working Out Together

In a recent Self magazine poll, 41 percent of readers said they'd exercise more if they had support. One of the best forms of support can be taking classes with friends or your significant other. In fact, many friendships have developed at Purely-Pilates.

Friendships are great because they enhance the experience and can make the hour of pain seem to fly by. It encourages perfect attendance because you don’t want to miss the class and therefore miss catching up with your friend’s latest news. Working out with people you know encourages a certain amount of positive reinforcement of your efforts or a friendly competition. After you’ve met for a class at Purely-Pilates, you can go out with your friend to another activity such as, a carb-loaded brunch, shopping for new workout clothes to fit your slimming physique or whatever sounds like fun.

Carol and Marsha are two friends who met at a party through a mutual friend. Marsha became a client at Carol's hairdressing salon and when Marsha mentioned that she was attending classes at Purely Pilates, Carol decided to join her. She really enjoyed the class "until we did the Ab Series!" They've been coming to three classes a week together for more than four years.

They both like the variety of Pilates "mat is best because it uses all of the body" and at Purely Pilates they like the variety of teachers and the ability to lear different routines from each teacher.

TEACHER TRAINING at Purely Pilates

Purely Pilates, the exclusive Power Pilates affiliate in the Bay Area, will run a Beginner Mat Certification Weekend January 12, 13 and 14. These dates are just around the corner, but it's not too late to register. This will be an intensive weekend learning how to teach the first 18 exercises of the Pilates mat. Power Pilates has developed teaching tools to help with the development of the best teachers, as well as to add skill to the experienced teacher. All participants will be tested on the final day of class to receive their mat certificate. The only prerequisite to the class is memorizing the 18 exercises of the basic mat and some anatomy reading. Certified personal trainers will also receive continuing education credit from ACE and AFFA. Contact Purely Pilates at info@purely-pilates.com for more information.
